Club membership year runs from 1st October to 30th September. However, on first joining, a member joins for a full twelve months. At the end of his/her 12 months, the member renews until the subsequent 30th September, paying the appropriate proportion of the annual subscription rate. Thereafter membership is renewed each 1st October for a year.
The Club has a financing arrangement with a third party provider that allows the subscription payment to be spread over 12 equal monthly payments. (Details from the office). This is particularly useful as the member may finance an initial credit to his/her flying account as well.
Full Flying membership
£455.00 per year.
Solo spouse membership
Spouses and children under 18 of full flying members may join the club at no
charge until they go solo. From the renewal date following first solo they will
be charged the appropriate subscription rate.
£227.50 per year for the spouse, or partner, of a full flying member.
Solo Spouse membership is not available to those members having access to more
than one private glider between them.
Family membership
The spouse, or partner, and any children (aged under 18) of a full flying member pay no subscription but must enrol separately. For the spouse or partner, this class of membership will continue until the renewal date following their going solo, whereupon they become eligible for solo spouse membership (see above).
Children become liable for the young person's rate at the renewal date following their 18th birthday.
Young persons’ and Cadet memberships
Full details of these memberships, which require a certain level of commitment to club operations, are available from the office. In certain circumstances these classes of membership require interview with club officers and may not be available at some times when the limited numbers of memberships available have all been taken up.
Young person: £95 per year
Cadet: £70 per year
Associate membership
This is effectively a social membership to retain contact with the Club through
receipt of newsletters and have access to Gransden Lodge Airfield. If associate
members wish to fly they must pay the current temporary full flying membership
rate.
£7.50 per year
